Official Record Contacts

For current Lake County jail custody, start with the jail. For records routing, use the Sheriff's Office administrative contact. For filed court charges, use the Trial Court or MiCOURT. North Lake ICE detention and sentenced state or federal custody use separate systems.

Where to Look First

Use the record type to choose the first contact. A jail booking, a court case, a mugshot request, a state-prison search, and an ICE detention question do not go to the same office.

• For someone in the county jail, use jail inmate records and call the jail line.
• For booking photos, read jail roster mugshots and ask the sheriff about a FOIA request.
• For charges filed after an arrest, use court records after a jail arrest and MiCOURT.
• For a specific building, use the facility pages in the footer for jail or North Lake contact details.
• For a sentenced Michigan prisoner, search the statewide MDOC OTIS locator.
• For federal prison or ICE detention, use the BOP inmate locator or ICE ODLS.
